According to Downtown News:
After more than a year of speculation and rumors, the confirmation is in: Soho House is coming to the ever-expanding Arts District. The locale? A six-story, 100-year-old warehouse on South Santa Fe Avenue.
The actual address is 1000 S. Santa Fe Ave, according to several sources familiar with the project. It's a 1917 brick building that had been used as rehearsal space for
musicians and bands. I'm sure they'll start work immediately, as SOHO House is slated to open this new location in 2016.
According to the DN article: The 62,000-square-foot edifice is located two blocks south of the Ford Factory building, which San Francisco-based real estate giant Shorenstein Properties bought last April for $37 million. The company plans to turn it into creative office space with ground floor retail. The neighborhood is also home to Stumptown Coffee, at 806 S. Santa Fe Ave, Bestia, located at the corner of Santa Fe Avenue and East Seventh Place and Bread Lounge, at 700 S. Santa Fe Avenue. In November, the Beverly-Hills-based American Tea Room will open an outpost at 909 S. Santa Fe Ave.
Soho House was founded in London in 1995 as a private members club. The club located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood will remain open. Membership prices range from $1,000, for those under 27, to $2,800 a year.
Fancy shmancy.
